Beard and moustache transplant

Beard and mustache transplant

Facial hair transplant often leaves unnoticeable scars on the donor site. Tiny pinpoints of blood can be detected due to the anaesthetic needle used to perform the transplant. However, they will disappear during the healing process. Beard, goatee and mustache hair transplants are common procedures in Turkey. They prove effective for healthy men who have never had a beard or suffer from thinning. It is also effective for men who have partial loss of beard following an accident or as from a skin disease.

The density of the beard and mustache is different from head hair. Some people are not worried about lighter beard hair. Therefore, the density of a transplanted beard or mustache is not as crucial as the general and natural appearance.

How does the beard transplant work?

If the client has a patchy beard, hair is transplanted and distributed according to the density of the site surrounding the patchy areas to make them look natural and consistent. On the other hand, if the client doesn’t have a beard, the density and shape of the beard is determined by him.

Between 1000 and 4500 hair follicles can be transplanted according to the shape of the beard, as determined by the client.

Beard transplant at Diva Clinic is carried out by using the FUE technique. Follicles are harvested from the back of the head (the donor site) or the chest in case there is a lack of dense hair at the back of the head.

What happens after beard transplant?

Facial hair transplant does not leave visible scars on the donor site. Tiny pinpoints of blood can be noticed on the donor site because of the anesthetic needle used for hair transplant. They will disappear on the first hair wash.

Following that, the body begins to nourish the transplanted hair. Therefore, the patient may notice a slight redness which lasts up to two weeks. During the third and fourth week, part of the transplanted hair will fall out. After four to eight months, the transplanted hair into the beard will regrow naturally and permanently.

How does the mustache transplant work?

Moustache is implanted in the event that no hair grows or because of the burns that lead to the disappearance of hair. Moustache is also implanted by using the FUE technique to give desired result and a more natural-looking appearance. The FUE technique enables the doctor to extract as many follicles as possible to implant a dense mustache.
